Just called them and they asked all sort of questions about my trip.
Seems like motorcycle trips are something they are not use to deal with.

The lady asked me about the cost of my trip?? Apparently of for the underwriter to evaluate the cost of covering cancellation. But not sure how to answer that question without simply giving a guess.
Seems like they werent very keen on issuing the policy for me?? :nono:

Did you have to give them the cost of the trip?

THanks

We were told 'no' by Navigator in the past so that's good news about them.

My wife is a British expat and I'm Polish, so neither of us qualifies as the UK resident.

I've been in touch with World First (underwriter - Rothwell and Towler) and it looks promising:

1. No CC restrictions.
2. Can insure while on a move.
3. For all EU residents.
4. Price for 12 months for non-UK residents starts at 125 GBP (with 1600 GBP excess).
5. Europe zone includes all the stans. (strange!)

Here's the link:
Non UK Residents Travel Insurance at World First

Hope this helps somebody as it took me a while to find all this. :)

Hhmm, I also talked to them and this guy (Colin) seemed very helpful. It's possible to buy insurance online & I don't think they ask for a trip cost. Actually I'm planning to make a purchase later on today. I will update you.

Ok, it's done, I got myself & my wife new insurance. I hope I made the right decision to go with them. I think that whichever insurer I chose, there would always be a feeling of mistrust. Touch wood, we will never have to make a claim. :)

... I bought it online and they didn't ask me about the cost of my trip.

Been lazing in Batumi for about a month now, so tomorrow it's time to explore Georgia. :D

Hi,

good to hear.
Which policy/insurance did you go for finally?

I got a GlobeHopper Single Trip for both my wife and myself. I chose the 60k with 600 quid excess option. For just over 3 months it was 40GBP per person.

Good luck with choosing your insurance. Let us know what you've decided in the end. :)
