hi all,
i have recently found this website and find it a very useful resource but if possible could someone please clarify the situation about taking a car into mauri and then poss selling it, i rang the embassy and asked them what happens if a 'car brokedown' they replied that theres no problem with flying out and do not need any paperwork, anyone done this lately, details in passport? hard to remove?

Hi David, you may be better off moving this query to the Sahara forum on HU, or search there.

Getting set up when selling a car in Mori is not unusual - you'll get let out but lose all your money, although it can be done legitimately.

Hey Chris!
Our group bought the latest edition of Sahara Overland, truly complete and inspiring!
We are going to Mauritania on the 26st of august (I know, we're a bit looney) and need some advise on insurance.
Most people (mainly those living there) tell me the best thing is to buy insurance at the border or in Nouadhibou.
Is this true? Is it the best solution?
