London to Cape Town (long way home)

Hi there,

Firstly great site!! I been lurking for some time wondering what to do with my life. Sick of London and its time to go...what better way than on two wheels!!

Therefore I'm planning a trip home via the rest of Africa to Cape town, simple route I beenthinking of is as follows: UK, France, spain, Morocco, (now things get tough) Mauritania, Mali, Niger?, Northern Nigeria (heard the south is bad news)Cameroon (nice beaches)Congo/CAR, Zaire, Tanzania, Mozambigue and SA. Hoping to get advise on the following points:

1. route to take (i'm in early planning, hoping to leave in July)So tyhe route above is just a thought.

2. Particular issues with Visa's on the route suggested (I'm on a SA passport)

3. how you went about applying for the visa's any pitfalls.

Look forward to hearing from you.

JP

If you think it's getting tough in Mauritania I would go Zaire, Angola, Namibia, unless you consider flying from Kinchasa or there about (Braza, point-noir)to tanzania or somwhere far enough south east in Zaire to drive to Tanzania
