Leaving vehicle in Uruguay and going to Argentina
 

Any thoughts on the following situation, please?


I'll be arriving in Montevideo by sea with my vehicle. In Buenos Aires I can get an annual insurance valid in a number of South American countries and would like to go into the company office there (in B.A.) to pay cash and activate the insurance.


Having arrived in Montevideo and gone through immigration/customs, am I likely to be allowed to leave my vehicle in Uruguay while I make a quick return trip to Argentina. I've heard that "exiting a country without your vehicle depends on the country" and heard variations on this, too.
