Leaving bike in Russia or S korea
 

Hi everyone,

I'm nearly in Vladivostok and am going to Australia to work for a year or two and wanted to leave my bike in S Korea but it seems that might not be so easy now or I miss read in the first place... I have a 1 year temporary import in Russia which will finish in late May 2018. Apparently you can't get that extended?

Can anyone please help or easily explain to me how I can leave my bike in S Korea or Vladivostok for at least 1 year from today please as I won't have enough money to come back from Australia to bring it out of Russia.

Before anyone says - I'm not taking my bike to Australia, it's a 1990 xlr250 and it really isn't worth the huge expense of taking it to Australia!

AFAIK it will be very difficult to renew the Russian one year temp import certificate without taking the bike out of Russia.

You should contact Yuri Melnikov, who is in Vladi and who helped many HUBBers getting their bikes in/out of Russia--if anyone knows, I suspect it would be him. His contact info is here on HUBB somewhere.
