Kyrgyzstan visa help
Hi,
I'm planning to pass through Kyrgyzstan overland to China. But there is no Kyrgyz embassy in my country. And I need a LOI to get Kyrgyzstan visa, which I'll apply through one of the online travel agent. So, I plan to get my visa on the road, either in Moscow or in Almaty. Has anyone got your visa in these embassy before? Which is easier/cheaper/quicker to get a visa? Which do you recommend? |
Where are you from? Kyrgyzstan went visa free or VOI for lots of people last year..

Well, we can go to Russia and Kazakhstan visa-free, but strangely not Kyrgyzstan, although they are all in the same custom-union=.= Edit: And I'm going to be in Portugal for more than half a year (no Kyrgyzstan embassy in Portugal or Spain), and then start my overland journey Eastwards there, so getting a visa in Beijing or Urumqi is out of question I think. Edit2: Just found out there's Kyrgyzstan Embassy in Vienna, which is close enough to our proposed route and worth a detour there. So Vienna is the 3rd option for us. |
As said above. Since July 2012 70 rich countries no longer need a visa for Kyrgyzstan. Check now . you're probably on the list.

I know a lot of you won't need a visa for Kyrgyzstan anymore, but if you have applied a visa in Moscow or Almaty or Vienna before 2012, can you please share your experience - what's the cost? How difficult to get a visa there? EDIT: @reallybigtruck: the website you posted probably hasn't updated for a long time. Russia has been visa-free for quite a while, and Kazakhstan has been visa-free since Jul 2012. To determine if you need a visa or not, the best source is, always the government website - http://www.gov.hk/tc/residents/immig...freeaccess.htm |
