International Drivers Permit - Colombia
 

I know I'm supposed to have one of these for Colombia. Unfortunately it got lost in the post. Does anyone know if not having one will cause problems entering Colombia? I have an EU photocard.

No problem encountered with my UK license. You get stopped plenty of times and sometimes they want to see your license. Nothing was said about it being an EU photocard. However, on two occasions they asked for insurance - which obviously I had, only not on me, because the new policy had been shipped to Bogota. The only time I got asked for an international license was in Bolivia.

Where did you manage to get motorcycle insurance for Colombia?

Also, where are you at the moment? We are heading to Careterra Austral in a couple of days.

I never bought insurance for Colombia - sorry, it was a tongue in cheek remark about insurance in my post that the police swallowed as well!

I am currently in Puerto Varas passing a bit of time while the new front end for my bike is shipped to Santiago. Where abouts are you?
