interestingly cheapo carnet in Spanish RACE
 

Hi !!! a couple of years ago , I posted about the ease/difficulties of getting a carnet in Spain ..
I have just get another for my next trip ... and got lots info about it ...

In a nutshell:

all vehicles OLDER THAN 12-15 years , have a common deposit of 900 euros. That is. The remainder (if some country reclaims the carnet) ,is paid by an insurer . No further money than those 900 euros will be charged.

-of course , as usual , if the carnet is properly stamped , the money warranty will be given back .

The fees for a 25 pages carnet is a whooping 150 Euros.

It may only be issued to EU passport holders

It can ONLY be issued to Spanish registered vehicles.

However , temporary registration (green number plates ) is OK .
Vehicles can be temporary registered for as little as 60 euros + the cost of the plates for up to 2 months . (enough to get the carnet and drive away) .
