Insurance Nitty Gritty - Wording

Heya Hubbers

So down to the last thing which is organising travel insurance, still trying to find an insurer for the moto itself but looks like that may end up being a self insure cos no-one seems to do it.

So, my discoveries on policy wording today, if you ride a DUAL SPORT bike then a lot of insurers class this as "offroad"

So my WR250R is classed as offroad despite being road registered etc, I talked to 1Cover and they said yes I can get insurance then they backtracked saying it was a purely offroad bike. :nono:

Anyway, do some extra digging to the finer print as this seems to be a common theme now and you have to purchase adventure packages to go offroad even if you are not but you have a 'dualsport" so are forced into that corner, just another way they can milk it and yes it literally doubles the premium.

Back to the drawing board, but a question anyone have a good lead on Travel Insurance that does not think I am Travis Pastrana

i'll insure ya! $10k policy for $1200 per year. 50% damage covered, $5k deductible and a 30% co-insurance penalty. maximum out of pocket will be roughly $9200.

Hi

I've had quite a good response from a guy called Richard at Navigator for an Africa trip next year. I've not used them yet but their responses to all of my questions have been good. Has anyone else had dealings with them that can comment.

Ive just gone through this for a bike Ive bought in the UK to ride in Europe for the next few years. Don't know if thats where you're riding.
Im an Aussie citizen and non uk resident so limited options and expensive.
Comprehensive insurance for 4500 GBP bike cost meet 550GBP for 12 moths.

Was helpful and patient with my questions.

Hope this helps
