Insurance in Southern Africa
 

can anyone tell me where I can get hold of (preferably online) 3rd party insurance to cover me for Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, malawi, Moz & S.Africa?

If you have a search there's info around on the forum about this. The short answer is you don't need insurance for SA and Nam, for all the others a COMESA yellow card will cover you. I'm not aware that you can buy online, but you can get it from plenty of insurance companies in those countries.

If you only need to buy it for 4 countries (given SA and Namibia don't require separate 3rd party as it is covered in the fuel levy), my experience has been that it will probably work out cheaper just to buy single country insurance at each border, which is relatively hassle free.

If you are visiting 5+ countries which participate in the Comesa scheme, then it starts to become more cost effective to buy the yellow card.
