hello everybody

i'm from switzerland and will ride on my bmw r80 gs (licence plate from switzerland) through (parts of) the u.s. in december/january. anybody knows where i can get some (not too expensive) third party liability insurance? i'll start my trip in l.a.

Just got to the US (San Fran) and had to sort out 3rd party liability insurance for the final leg of our RTW trip. After much hassle we have arranged cover with Fernet. They offer a special policy for foreign visitors who are riding thier own bikes in the US. All the forms are on the following website

You can call them on 1-800-391-8144.

I printed the forms off the web, faxed them to Fernet and they faxed back confirmation to our hostel within a couple of hours. For 2 months cover the cost was $139. They also do fully comprehensive cover for your bike.
