Insurance for a borrowed bike in USA

I'm am trying to get insurance for a bike that I am borrowing from a friend in USA for 3 weeks.

Motorcycle Express state that they do not insure borrowed bikes, are there any that do?

Thanks
Rich

In the USA the owner of the bike has the insurance on the bike.
I think the owner would just add your name as a extra rider on his insurance.

It may vary from state to state but I understand that as long as you have the insurance documents from the owner and a written statement to say you have his permission then that will be fine.

Things change over time, especially since 9/11, so you will need to confirm this is still the case.

I borrowed a mate's AZ-registered DRZ for a 6 week trip a couple of years back. My mate put me on the Title, hence I was the "co-owner". I used Progressive Insurance which allowed me as a non-US (aka UK) driver's licence holders to be insured on "my" bike.

Thanks for the advice.
I am now insured on the owners policy.
