Insurance for Aussie travellers heading overseas
 

Folks, today (25/5/23) I started obtaining information from travel insurance companies here in Oz to cover me while overseas on my motorcycle. Many have suspended travel insurance since Covid visited our shores, as expected. Others won’t cover anything above 200 or 250 cc. These companies are Travel insurance Direct, Virgin Money, World Care, Budget Direct, Woolworths and Southern Cross travel and the Australian Post office. If you are taking a bike around the 250 cc size you can try Travel insurance Direct, and perhaps World Care from the list above.
Others that do offer coverage are Covermore, Fast Cover, possibly Insure and Go and World Nomads. There may be one or two more in both lists I have not included but at least it saves you wasting time checking on companies that won’t offer coverage.
I haven’t chosen a company yet, so if anyone knows of a company with a proven track record of paying claims and looking after motorcyclists, ( old ones like me especially) let me know please. Ta

Thanks for this, is always a problem. Medibank was also a possibility last year although things change quickly.
