Information on riding from Turkey to Cape Town

Hey friends

I am riding from Turkey to Cape Town this November.... I would request all the information required on the below

Can I ride the Royal Enfield classic 500

Information on visas and carnage..

How long would it take to cover the entire distance..

What to avoid on this trip.

I can comfortably ride 500 kms per day.. With a few breaks in between.

Any other information is welcome..

Cheers... ?c?

Sorry...couldn't resist.....but I would assume that any "carnage" would result from trying to ride 500kms /day in some parts of Africa....:innocent:

Having said that, all the info you might possibly want is just a click away, ( right on the left where it says "search hubb", would be a good start)

And the most enchantingly dreamily beautiful pictures from the route you mention are on the final pages of here, as well as plenty of practical info : From Estonia with love (Round the World awesome ADVenture!!) - ADVrider

Enjoy your research...;)

Maybe tigerranch means "Carnet" (pronounced "CAR NAY")?

Of course, there may also be lots of carnage applying, paying, and using a Carnet :)

tigerranch--assuming the Enfield is registered in India, you need to get a Carnet from
AAUI
in Delhi

Your location seem India and starting point Turkey!!!!!!
If you are seriously planning such a trip, better visit our club, stay 1 day here as our guest, and you will be donated with all the current information about Europe,Asia, and Africa wherever your trip is to,
On the other side:
1-Your questions need more than 20 pages as a reply and most of them are already replied in HU.
2-Also according to your citizenship and official documents of the bike, replies will be some different. So your personal and bike information is not completed to get the exact reply.
3-Type of your passport is very important, too.
Personally I feel you have no experience and not ready for long distance riding
according to your way of questioning.

Wish you all the best....

On january 22, our friend Andon ended his cape-town istanbul trip in our club.here are the photos of the finish day. His bike was Baja-250.
Andon 's Finish Line İstanbul 22.January 2011 | Facebook
His website is full of tips for those who are planning the same route.
2wherever
But you must be carefull about political developments in Syria,Egypt,Sudan,Yemen,Umman and some Mid African countries. No entrance to S.Arabia for bikers. Presently riding connection between north and south africa is not ok.Some friends are still waiting in Tanzania, some came to istanbul by air and 8 international bikers are staying in Adıyaman and Şanlıurfa waiting our advices to enter Syria.Unfortunately the roads are not safe yet in mid and south Syria. So most of the international and Turkish riders changed their plans this year and going to İran,Pakistan,India,Nepal or Georgia,Russia,Siberia directions after Turkey.
Who knows what future will bring but for me, personal security first.

Best wishes
