HELP: RUS vısa app ın Turkey for UK cıtızen...
 

... Just been turnd down at the Russıan Consulate ın Trabzon for a vısa applıcatıon (doubble entry bız vısa). Apparently you must have some form of 'turkısh resıdency' eg a turkısh passport to apply from ın Turkey.

Is there any truth ın thıs? Accordıng to the guy at the embasy thıs rule has been around for 3 years and applıes to cıtızens of many EU countrıes.

Any help much appreıcated, my expensıve LOI's are goıng out of date already...

yes there is truth in it ... you can normally only get a Russian visa in the country of your passport or the country of your permanent residence.

You will have to DHL your passport to the UK ... someone will have to apply for the visa urgently for you there, and when they get the visa for you, they can DHL it back to you. A guy had to do that in Ulaan Baatar last year and was stuck in UB for 2-3 weeks while waiting.
