Green card insurance

Hello all,

I have a UK registered bike (I'm from UK too) but have been living in Slovakia for the last 8 months. Previously I had UK insurance with Carol Nash and used their green card scheme to travel through Europe last summer. I've been teaching English here and doing a rebuild on my bike. Now it will soon be ready and the weather is great.

Where can I get thirdy part green card cover for my bike? Do I need to get proper insurance or just the card from the RAC?

Kind regards,

Ross

Apparently, the GC is no longer compulsory for EU vehicles travelling anywhere in the EU, but it does facilitate things in case of an accident.

Third party insurance IS compulsory, however. Don't ride without it. Seeing your bike is UK reg you shouldn't have any trouble getting cover from a UK co., I would have thought?

And you can't have a GC without "proper" TP insurance, as it is the proof that you have cover. http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/wink.gif
