Entering Iran on bike not registered in my name
Hello people,
I wonder if anyone has the answer to this tricky question! I am hoping to borrow a bike in the autumn to ride from Europe to Iran. But I won't be the registered keeper. Will that be a problem when entering Iran (or indeed, any other non-Euro countries)? Any thoughts/experiences gratefully received. Lois |
UK-Iran
Hi Lois
Just went this route in September last year. Iran people didn't really care, so that just leaves Turkey assuming your going that way. I had to pay insurance at border. Getting out of Turkey was much harder than getting into Iran I must say. I took my own bike and the only place I remember asking for original registration docs was Turkey and Thailand. Here .. I'll bore you with the draft Turkey bit, still working on Iran episode. Thought you were doing a thing with Compass over here soon? Cheers Steven |
I suggest to travel with documents who are legal. Better to do more than less, to avoid hassle.
4x4tripping: Reisen mit dem Mietwagen, Firmenwagen, oder einem geliehenen Fahrzeug I hope google Translate will work for you. Surfy |
Thanks for the info
Much appreciated. Will see if I can get the bike temporarily registered in my name. And yes, I will be in Tassie soon in November with Compass Expeditions, hosting another all-girl tour - the Tasmanian Devilettes!
