Entering Croatia
I've ridden through western Europe the last 2 years but, now I have my sights set on the Adriatic coast of Croatia.
Can I just show up at the border? Can I get any nescessary paper work at the border crossing? I appreciate any information. Thanks, Orson |
If you have European insurance and the greencard it should be no problem. However it might be an idea to verify with the

I rode the Adriatic coast road in Croatia last year. We crossed the border from Slovenia and had absolutely no problem whatsoever. A quick passport check and we were through.
If your going to that part of the world anyway Slovenia has some great scenery friendly people and is very very cheap. |
I've entered Croatia from Slovenia or Hungary many times with my Canadian registered motorcycle and my Canadian passport.
Most of the time, the customs officer (border guard) has just waved me through after a cursory look at my passport (total time about 15 seconds). Once, though, they actually stamped my passport, which doubled the processing time - to 30 seconds. I guess what I am trying to say is that entering or leaving Croatia is a non-event. It's a delightful country, and all the customs people are well aware that tourism is a big contributor to the economy. So, my suggestion is don't even worry about it. PanEuropean |
