egypt with no carnet
Hi, so I keep reading that now in Egypt you can get a temporary import permit at the border (instead of using a carnet) paying a cash deposit of 2000 Euros, which you get back when you leave. Has anyone had experience actually doing this? how painful was the experience? and did you get the money back no worries? and if I plan to sell the motorbike in South Africa, therefore having to to pay the import fees, a carnet would be pointless there as well right??!! Thanks lauren |
