So I noticed that I need the 1949 version of the International Drivers Permit for Algeria.

There are services online, where I can get it digitally. Do you think that would be enough or should I just go for the full book and try to mail it somewhere on the road?

Are you on the road now? Memory says you're not, but that's been known to be faulty...:rofl:


So if not, get it now, done and out of the way. You should be able to get it at your local AA for a small fee, then it looks official :) and that never hurts.

Just started my trip down through western Europe with the goal of doing Algeria and Tunisia during January-February.

I agree that the book looks more official. I will probably ask a relative to mail the IDP somewhere, but I hate being a burden on the relatives...
