Carnet while out of home country?
 

How can one obtain a Carnet if one is currently in another country and doesn't want to go back to registration country? For example, from USA, go to Africa for a year without carnet, then want to ride/ship east towards India, how would I get a carnet for India, etc..without returning to USA? Possible?

I emailed the Canadian CAA with details, send lots of $$$$, and they send you the carnet by Fedex... There is not an office in the USA .. for American registered autos, so you use the CAA.

This is the second time we get a new Carnet the passage while on the road and without going back to Italy. I don't know how legal it is, but my father hands in all the documentation to the ACI (and a delegation letter from the owner of the bike) and then sends me the new document.

3 years ago when we were first facing the issue the Swiss Automobile Association was willing to make a new carnet for us even if our motorbike is not registered in Switzerland for a couple of hundreds euro more...
