Carnet - Ownership transfer
 

Hi All,

I've tried searching but can't find the answer (I'm also waiting on an email reply from Paul Gowen at the RAC) so sorry if this has been asked before.

Is it possible to change the Name of the Carnet to someone else? We're looking at selling our car in Cape Town for someone else to drive north.

It must be possible but I can't seem to find out how, or how much...

I think you'll find the answer is no. You'll have to close the carnet and they'll have to start a new one.

I was worried that might be the case. Presumably it would be the same as the renewal process with both needing to be sent to Jo'burg (the new one from the RAC in England and the old one from me)?
