Carnet expiring shortly, will Iran let us in?
 

Hey guys,

Our CDP is due to expire on 7th December and it has taken us a little by surprise! We are currently in Pakistan and have a visa to stay here until 5th of December. Is Iran likely to let us enter with our bikes if our CDP will expire a few days after we've entered the country? If they do, are they likely to kick up a fuss if we try and leave on an expired CDP?

We had our CDP issued in Australia. We understand we can probably have it extended so we've emailed the AA with some enquiries. Does anyone know if it is possible to extend the Carnet by a shorter period than 1 year to save cash? It seems like Iran will be the last country we'll actually need the CDP.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Check getting a visa extension in Pakistan now, don't mention the bike. Just see the officials and see if you can get an extension, you want to see a bit more of their excellent country.

You will be very lucky to get the carnet renewed in that time period. And then you have the problem of getting it to yourselves in ? Iran or Pakistan. So .. check getting the carnet shipped ... probably DHL for a secure document. And probably easiest/cheapest/quickest shipping to Pakistan.
