Carnet and Shipping to India
 

I have noticed people are not thrilled with trying to get paperwork for India. Is the Carnet the problem or something else? So much for being a simple process.

Hi Gremlin,

There is no special paperwork needed for India. All you need is a Carnet de Passage (which you need for many more countries), bike-title (in your name) and that is it.
You might consider a International driving-licence, but no one ever asked me.
Border formalities are easy and hassle free.

I rode my bike when ever possible. Only if there was no other way I shipped it,
and then preferable by means as simple as possible like private yachts, small
cargo-boats etc..:boat:

Only the "big jumps" I flew due to time considerations.
