Canada Customs do i need an agent?
 

Hi There

I'm on the home straight of a round the world trip and will be shipping my vehicle by container latter this month to Halifax, NS

My question is has anybody got their vehicle from the docks without and agent or is it all to messy and long winded to do it yourself?

Any experiences/advice from would be greatly appreciated.

Funnily enough I got my UK Registered bike from the port in Halifax today and no agent was needed, I went to the customs office on Hollis street where they were firendly and efficient, it took about 5 minutes. First go to the shipping office and pay the handling charge, about C$165, take the paperwork with the registration document to customs and get it stamped the go back to the port and pick up the bike.
This was for an uncrated motorcycle coming in on a ro-ro ferry so yours might be more complicated but an agent should not be needed.

Cheers mark that's just what i wanted to hear as the expenses are mounting up and one less can only help my poor bank account ;-)
