buying bike in Peru-advice
 

Hello,

I'm going to buy a small motorbike here in Peru where I have been volunteering for the last year. I was hoping to find some advice on here about how to best to register and insure it. I would also like to hear any comments about how complicated it is to leave the country with a peruvian registered bike. (My visa here is long expired so I would like to leave the country soon to renew it). I have an address here I can use to register and friends who could put it in their name if that were advisable.

I'm looking at buying a motorcycle or 4wd in Peru in March. I know nothing about the paperwork involved or what it would be like to try to cross borders in SA. I've heard though that it is hard to get Peruvian vehicles out of the country.

Have you learned anything?
