Brokedown in Mexico, paperwork (FMM & TVIP) will expire before my bike is fixed

I'm at the tail end of a 6 month motorcycle trip in Mexico, a week before i was supposed to leave and my docs (FMM and TVIP) expire. I had a pretty significant mechanical failure and the mechanic is waiting on parts which will take 8 days at least and the repair will likely take a couple more. My documents expire before then, so i and the bike will be in the country illegally, and quite far from a border.

What options do i have?
Creative solutions welcome, I'd like to do things as above board as possible but I'm considering anything from just crossing fingers and hoping for the best heading north (and forfeiting the deposit i put down when i crossed) to finding tye right office to plead my case and try to get a short extension, to applying for temporary residence to take advantage of the lienency right now for those who overstay visas, but i don't know if this would apply to the moto as well.

it's only an opinion, but I don't think you have to worry to much about it. I would contact my country embassy to let them know that my bike is broken down.

I will also make sure that the shop that has your bike is its facility to state the date that your bike had been in their custody.

I have heard guys paying a ridiculus small fine to overstay for no reason at all, that is not your case.:ban:

Hola Sendero,

Apart from Embassy, MX Inmigration (maybe I would not flag the case yet)... I would write to local Mexican HU communities. Native speakers and local riders that may know who to contact and how to deal with that type of situation:

Best of luck,
