Bike Valution for Carnet?

Has anyone ever been questioned about the value they have stated for their Carnet? I am assuming most people down value their machine.
Thanks.

Absolutely, as long as its a 'credible' price you'll get away with it.

'Twelve careless owners, raced every Sunday, crashed nine times.....' you get the idea. ;-)

Yes and make sure it's well caked in mud and grime before you get it valued too....If you put some 2 stroke oil into the petrol beforehand too,it'll smoke like a knackered old dog! That's got to knock the value down a fair bit.

we have twice had carnets ( issued in Australia) for our two Honda bikes. Both times our valuation was accepted...we did not need to get a written valuation from a dealer. Both times we took into consideration the condition of the bikes....you know....the usual, scratches, unpopular colour, and the fact that it was a very very 'naked' bike. All the bits and pieces were ours to keep rather than a value on the bike. Doesnt eveybody sell their bike and keep the accessories?????

In the photos that we submit for the carnet - should the bike be trip ready?? We have swapped out the stock tanks on our bikes for Safari tanks which would most likely up the cost of the bike, but does it matter if the photos that we submit do not match the bike perfectly...???
