Bike insurance for the US. What is and isn;t needed

Awaiting some replies from Motorcycle express, so in the meantime I'll ask here.

Amongst the options for insurance are the "Optional coverages" of guest passenger for $50/month, apparently this is if your pillion sues you.

Is this normal in the US (when the pillion is your wife?).

I am trying to the MCexpress to explain the difference between third party and the pillion suing.

Then there is the Uninsured Motorist coverage. $105/month. Max of $50k payout.

Big question... is this one *really* worth it ?

I think you got it wrong... it is not when the passagen sues you, but when the passanger get injured also... so the insurance will cover them as well....

Uninsured coverage

People in different states drive without insurance (and have no assets) so it would be a good idea for you to have uninsured coverage.

Technically, you'll need liability insurance for the bike in nearly every state. Everything else is optional.

Collision insurance, uninsured motorist, and all sorts of other options are just that....options.
