Advice please - How to buy and keep a bike in texas usa as an aussie living in oz
 

Looking to buy a bike in Texas, USA and keep it there for the next couple of years. Australian resident with Australian drivers license. Have a friend’s address where the bike will live. Planning to ride all of Central & South America starting November this year, then starting on Canada the year after so bike will be going in and out of the USA. Does anyone have experience buying and owning a bike as a non-US resident? What process is required? For purchasing? Registration & insurance? Any recommendations on who to insure with for full comprehensive cover? Thanks very much for your comments in advance.
