3rd Party Insurance in India...??
 

Hi Fellow Adventurers...

I am on a RTW trip and have just flown my bike in Delhi, India.... I have the bike but could not get any 3rd Party Insurance and cannot find anybody who can assist... Even my freight agent has now given up....!!

I have 9 days left on my visa and need to get to Nepal pronto...!!

Can anybody advise where I can obtain the insurance...??

I managed to find some in Amritsar but it was probably not worth the paper it was written on, from what I can remember most people never had any, if you have an accident it will be your fault either way and you will be expected to pay cash for any damage. Remember if you hit a pedestrian if possible do not stop but ride to a police station and report it.

I too picked up some insurance in Amritsar. I paid an extra R100 to have it cover me in Bhutan, Bangladesh and Nepal as well! R849 for third party cover for a year (incl. geographical extensions).

That was with The New India Assurance Company The New India Assurance Co. Ltd. whose Delhi offices are:

As Mark says it probably isn't worth the paper it's written on but hey, it looks official!
