Warsaw to Georgia-Armenia-Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan in May
 

Hi,

I'm planning to ride from Warsaw, Poland to Caucasus, probably reaching Turkmenistan via ferry, going through Ukraine, coming back through Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania... I want to start in the last week of May, coming back 4-4,5 weeks later. Anybody thinking about doing similar trip?

I will be posting regular updates on my blog roadunlimited.com, which is currently under construction as well as on my facebook.com/roadunlimited.

I'm leaving on 4 June going through Ukraine but most probably skipping Turkmenistan and instead going through Russia to Uzebkistan and Tajikistan, if I will get my multi-entry Russian visa tomorrow :thumbup1:

Second option is to go to Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan only. I will see on my way, have 32 days in total for evertything so it's a bit limiting.

You may already know about the need to use an indirect route into Azerbaijan--not from Armenia--and to be at least cautious about evidence of Nagorno Karabakh visits.

But I thought I'd point that out anyway. Hope it's helpful.

Thanks, I'm aware of the border crossings and I'm ready to explain Armenian/ Azer stamps in my passport to the border guards :) I don't plan to visit Nagorno Karabakh - my Transalp in not fast enough to dodge bullets.

I'll be entering Georgia from Turkey in 2 days. Last 7 days I'm wondering though it. Hoping to get some mountains along the way, but also skeptical because of the snow. I was stopped in Turkey with it doh, this winter was harder than last ones. In any case, after Georgia I'm heading to Azerbaijan, taking ferry, hopefully in Kazakhstan first week of June, then Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Mongolia...if I'm gonna be able to make another visa for Russia, I'll be entering Russia again and taking the road east... we'll see, km by km... :mchappy:bier

I'm leaving on Thursday 6 June, so probably will reach Azerbaijan in mid-June.

Did a similar trip in 2017: Krakow - Balkans - Greece - Turkey - Armenia - Georgia - Ukraine (ferry) - Krakow.

Lasted 6 weeks, 8000 km - included a 1-week break in Greece.
