Hi riders
What Tal meant was that since Israel end Syria are in a kinde of war situ. and so is the status of Israel and Iran, Turkey's east border is Tal's end of the ride.

Tal,from Istanbul go against the clock by the Med. sea road. via Adana,Gaziantep, Haran (Abraham birth place), Urfa, Diyrbakir,Van, Then Mt. Ararat.
Try getting to Armenia and then Georgia. if not, you can enjoy a great time in the Kachkar. or the near Black sea shore.
Then go south-west to Kayseri and back to Istanbul. there are lot of sites you will say you need more time to enjoy. get ready for meny army stops on the east side and don't get to close to the Kourd region riding solo.
have fun.

Nice route for Turkey yoni,

However, he is British, so he does not need visa for Israel. He may get the Israeli stamp on a seperate paper not on his passport. And as far as I know, there is a border between Israel and Egypt. Anyway, for more info visit www.visualtourist.com the forums are quite reliable.

good luck

Thanks for all of you!
Yes I would like to go to Isarel but I have only 3 weeks off work and as one that hold Israely passport I can not go via Syria. afte I do Turky this year I am planning to go to Israel next year via north Africa. 5 weeks

yoni 20 Sep 2005 03:03

Tal
1)You can store your bike in Antalya, take a jump flight from Antalya Turkey, to Israel-(one hour +)-daily charter flights. visit your family and go back to Antalya continue your ride.
2)When going via north Africa you will have problem to cross Algiers and Libya with your Israeli passport.
greetings
Yoni

Thanks, Yoni, I will visit Israel (My father) on XMS 2006 for one week, I will take the plain from UK then. The target is Israel on my BIKE!. By next year I am thinking of canceling my Israely passport and having new UK Passport so I can go via North Africa.

I'm going to Turkey from the UK about one month later than you (about 10th November). If anyone would like to join me, drop me a line.

Dave O 21 Sep 2005 01:09

Nigel P,,,, What bike have you got. I've planned a trip with a mate in novenber, but it may go tits up and I'll be going solo

nigelp 23 Sep 2005 17:36

Hi Dave,

I've got an R100GS.

I'm actually going onto Iran then popping across to Oman (I'm Best Man at a wedding there in late December) and then going back into Iran and onto Pakistan and India. Probably shipping the bike back from India but maybe shipping it to South America and doing the Trans American Highway to Alaska.

Email me direct if you'd like to join me to Turkey (or wherever).

Hi,

I'm not planning to go to Turkey but I rode UK --> Bulgaria two years ago and would suggest Bulgaria as worth a visit enroute.
Mail me for details of the route etc if you like. You can get there in 3 days or 5 if you take it easy.

I may be organising a trip to Bulgaria later in 2006 for anyone who would like to come.

Cheers,
Ptarmigan.
