Turkey to Mongolia - May-Aug 2024
 

Hello everyone,

I am leaving on a ride to Mongolia this week, starting from Istanbul. Planning to get to Tbilisi, Georgia and ship my bike from there to Baku, Azerbajan as the land borders are closed. From Baku I'll be taking a ro-ro ship to Kuryk, Kazakhstan. From there I'll be heading to China via the -stans and then on to Mongolia. I have the crossing into China and the associated procedures organized.

Give me a shout if you are in the general vicinity and would like to tag along.

Not sure what situation with the ferry is at the moment. Friends who did it had to ship bikes and fly to Kaz, but it was a few months ago.

I’ll be doing the same thing as Azeri land borders are closed for personal travel. Shipping the motor to Baku and continuing with it on a ferry to Kazakhstan. Super inconvenient and expensive but that’s the way it is.
