Turkey early November

G'day cobbers!

I've got 2 weeks R&R coming up for the first 2 weeks of November and am looking into flying to Antalya in the south of Turkey and hiring a motorbike for 2 weeks. I'd like to see Mount Nemrut in the east, and head up to Cappadoccia for a couple of days exploring the valleys on foot. I don't have any fixed plans at this stage.

Cheers, Lewis

Russia and USA just started a chess game in north syria so better keep updated with the situation in the area..Currently Mount Nemrut is NOT recommended...nomore east after cappadocia from mid anatolia.
PM elections will be on nov.1. and its expected to be worse in the area afterwards until syria problem is over or calm..Also your motobike hire company will donate you with all the current information..

Probably weather will be partly rainy, insallah not stormy on seaside places or a bit snowy on inlands..
Personally can recommend you the below route which covers most of the interesting/historical places, beaches and colors around antalya..Off season now for locals as schools are opened..

All the best.

Antalya, anamur,silifke,karaman,aksaray,cappadocia,konya,eg ridir lake side,isparta,denizli,pamukkale hierapolis,selcuk ephesus,milas,kas, kemer, antalya...

Thanks for the information!

I have been keeping an eye on the Syria situation and I am a bit concerned about the border area. Apparently there is a real risk of kidnappings within 50km of the border. It's a shame as that part of Turkey looks very nice from what I have researched. The safer option will be no further east than the line between Antalya to Cappadocia.
