Thinking on Iceland in late August
 

Hi everybody,

I'm thinking on a trip to Iceland, maybe starting by ferry on August 28 from Esbjerg and returning some 3-4 weeks later.

I (male, 37) don't have plans yet, so I'm quite flexible. I have been traveling all over Europe with bike & tent, but I just started riding on gravel.

Just remember that the "ring road" is not continuous at the moment due to being washed out by ice melt from the volcano. What a great time to visit though. The big volcano is expected to blow anytime soon!

Yeah, I've got a couple of friends working in seismology, they'd be jealous. On the other hand, a new eruption will melt more water making river crossings more ... challenging.
