Thailand-Myanmar-India

Dear Travelers

We are a dutch couple traveling around the world in a Toyota Landcruiser and are currently in Thailand.

We planned to go through Myanmar in the month of May to India. Therefore we would like to start a group to share the costs. Anyone interested?
Please let us know as soon as possible!

I would love to but I will only make Timor on the 24th and that would mean a huge rush to cover Indonesia/Malaysia to Thailand in just one month. Maybe not even possible if you will go in the later part of June I will be a definite. Best of luck getting a group together I wish I could be there. Shane

Hey Shane

I was going to go through Myanmar with a group of guys but they're thinking of doing it end of May which is a bit too soon for me. I'm in Lombok, Indonesia at the moment and I'll travel around Cambodia and Laos too so I'm thinking of hitting Myanmar about mid June sometime if i canget some people together.

Crossing Myanmar early June

Hi all,

There are 2 of us on bikes that are currently in Thailand, we are going to travel through Laos, and Cambodia, then hopefully through Myanmar early June.
We would love to catch up and share stories, travel tips and possibly the cost through Myanmar.
Early to Mid June would suit us perfectly but we are flexible on those dates
Thanks Lyn & Curt

Hello,
sorry for answering this late, but we know now a little bit more.
we are applying for a visum in Bangkok and than we will contact our guide again. For 8 days and 2 people he is calculating an awful lot of money, around 5000 dollars everything included. with 2 people more it will be a lot cheaper.
But there is also still a possibility to connect with a group end of May/start of June, here there are more persons involved, which would count less

We are traveling to Europe, so one way or the other we have to go into India. If we are shipping and flying, costs will be not much less...(sigh)

We are still hoping to join the group, but if not we are going alone and it would be nice to have some companions to share experiences (and of course the costs :)

Thailand-Myanmar-India

Watch!! Our price 5000,-- USdollar is for 2 persons and 8 days 7 nights.
So we can see something about Myanmar. Including guide, translator, driver and somebody from the governement (don't ask me why), hotels and catering
If we are with more travelers, the cost of the car with all the people we can share.
By for example 6 people we pay 1800,--pp

If there's any way you can afford to stay longer, do try to: we took twice as long for the trip and it was still a couple of days too short. On the 8 day crossing it'll be only driving and little time for much else.
Enjoy it anyway!

Why travelling in group?

Hi friends,

I'm wondering why you want/need to travel in group in Myanmar? And why do you need a guide? I have been travelling in Myanmar for 1 month by bicycle in 2003 and again in 2006 without any guide or agency.

Now I'm planning about riding from Cambodia to Nepal in 2015 or 2016 (by motorbike) going through Thailand, Myanmar and India. So, I'm interested to know about getting visa and crossing borders between Thailand/Myanmar and Myanmar/India. I don't want to travel with a guide in Myanmar at all. It would be great if people here could share their experiences.

Thanks much!
Freddy

Hi

By motorbike you need a guide, a travel agent, a govenement person and a driver. Costs for about 10 days by yourself are anything from 3000-10000 usd. So it's good to find others.
When in 2015 are you going...? We might be planning something.
You also need a permit to go to that province in India via motorbike, then burma you need the four people and you can only exit into thailand, not laos.

cheers
