Staying in Trabzon, Turkey
 

Hi there, I'm staying in Trabzon, waiting for some documents and, I hope soon, for some good news depending on my travelfunds. I'm also trying to get new tires. It seems to be possible to get them, in case they are coming from Istanbul in 2-3 days.

I came here via Sochi, with the ferry from russia, three days ago. I rest here for one, maybe two weeks. Hotels are cheap and the Hamam's are worth a visit. Very good for an agonised bikerback.

It would be nice to get some company to discover the surrounding of Trabzon and maybe later going together to Iran on the road to India.

There's an interesting monastery in the hills at Sumele about 50 km south of Trabzon.

If I remember rightly, a sign there said 'watch out for rolling stones' but I didn't see any!

Yeah Stephan, I've heard about that sight. And also the city is full of posters showing this place. I go there tommorrow.
Watching out for the unexpecting is my second nature, after my time in russia. Between 'rolling stones' you mostly find cows and horses which don't know the rules. But there is normally no difference between them and russian drivers.
