Scotland 2013 - Travelling from the South

All,

I will be going to Scotland again during May for a week on either of the following dates:

Saturday 11th - Sunday 19th

OR

Saturday 18th - Sunday 26th

I plan to go around the Cairngorms (Skipped it last time), West Highlands (Durness, Ullapool, Applecross and everywhere in between) and possibly go over to the Isle of Harris and Lewis - it's only £40.00 return on the ferry.

If anyone is about and going up that way at a similar time it would be great to know!

Camping / Wigwams for accommodation :)

Cheers

Ash

Hi Chizz,

Thank you very much for the offer, sounds great and I'm up for that!

I'll probably get to you mid day Friday as I'm coming up from Wiltshire, when do you start to arrive at the campsite in Cannich and when do you all disperse?

Cheers

Ash

Hi Darren,

I'm going up a second time because I really didn't get to see it all!

I'll PM you my RR from last time I went for you to look at, the west highlands were great (Best part to me) especially Applecross! That's a must!

- Glencoe
- Fortwilliam
- Loch Lomond

I mainly followed the coastline and can't really remember where I went!

PM sent!

You will probably be one of the first to arrive - although some years people turn up on the Thursday - I will probably have to do a day at work so late afternoon/early evening for me - although I will know nearer the time - most will head home on Sunday - but some may be travelling on - try the meeting section - you may find someone to travel up with or meet on route

Darren - Beware the dreaded midges that become a major nuisance on the West of Scotland from late spring throughout the summer, particularly if camping. Early spring they are less prevalent and you can get some fantastic weather at that time of the year (but don’t blame me if it is cold and wet!).

I'll be up there in mid August but I'm not anticipating any problems with the midges - I'm going to the world bagpipe championships
