Santiago-Usuhaia-BBA and ....
 

Had to leave my KTM 990 in Santigo Feb'20. Now planning to recover it and reinitiate a trip South to Ushuaia and then back North towards BBAA and ... Planning to start early '23, not much time pressure. Some ideas where to go but not a fixed plan, taking it day by day improvising, preferably off-road. Anyone interested in sharing anything is welcome. BTW I'm from Barcelona.

This is my first post in the forum, but I have reading it for a long time. I'm dreaming with a similar trip, and probably I will do it early 2023, but I will buy a 125-150cc bike in Santiago, the ride to Usuahia and back to north by ruta 40 to Bolivia and back to Santiago. I´m planning a three months trip, but depending about job. If all goes on, I will tell you later. By the way, I'm from Tenerife.

Esta es la primera vez que escribo en el foro aunque lo he estado leyendo desde hace bastante tiempo. Sueño con hacer un viaje similar, y puede que lo haga a principios de 2023, pero comprando una moto de 125-150cc en Santaigo y rodando hasta Usuahia para luego tomar la ruta 40 dirección norte hasta Bolivia y luego finalizar en Santiago. Tengo planeado un viaje de unos tres meses pero depende de mi trabajo. Si todo va bien te diré algo mas adelante. Por cierto, soy de Tenerife

Yo me compre la moto en Santiago y la puse a mi nombre. Una enfermedad familiar me obligo a volver inesperadamente a Barcelona y luego enlazo con el drama COVID. Espero reemprender el viaje e principios de año acoplandome al clima austral. No se como mandarte un privado, seria mas facil contactar. Saludos. Llino

Que pena lo que te pasó, me imagino como te habrás sentido. A mi me pasó algo similar aunque no salvando las distancias. El año pasado me iba a hacer una viaje desde Huelva a Suiza para hacer un par de puertos de montaña y luego regresar otra vez, en una LML 125 4T, y cuatro días antes de salir tuve que cancelarlo por temas de trabajo.

Llevo queriendo hacer el viaje a Usuahia desde hace bastante, pero no se si el trabajo me lo permitirá. Tengo que esperar a mas a adelante para ver como se plantea el tema. Pero como mi plan se reduce a ir de Santiago a Usuahia y subir por la 40 a la Quiaca, todo lo demás, como será nuevo para mi pues me es indiferente, habrá mil sitios que ver. En cuanto lo tenga claro, solo necesito un par de dias para hacer la maleta y cruzar el charco.

Hi LM and Larry, I'm currently in Santiago after spending the past 6 weeks in Buenos Aires. I'm interested in teaming up to ride to Ushuaia and back north through Argentina. Where we might part ways is in Northern Patagonia on the Argentina side, after Ushuaia, I would like to stay for a week in Rio Negro (Northern Patagonia Argentinian province) to visit a friend before looping back around to Santiago by early-mid Feb to re-sell the bike I will buy.

That leaves more or less the month of January for me to ride from Santiago, reach Ushuaia, and get to Rio Negro around the end of the month. Those times are very flexible, other than the mid-Feb return to Santiago.

I'm curious about the timelines you're considering and how my rough timeline fits with what you’re thinking.

Hi, keenan44, I am coming over to Santiago Dec 30th. Will stay in the city for a couple of days for a tune-up and to celebrate New Year's. I am flexible with the route, but Perito Moreno and Torres Del Paine are a must. Planning arriving Ushuaya Jan 12-15th. PM me if you want to link up in Santiago or somewhere on the way to Patagonia.

Hi Larry, thanks for the quick reply. Actually my friend has changed their plan a bit and I will be going to Argentina at the beginning of January to visit them - this pretty much changes any thoughts I had about doing the previously mentioned itinerary, so unfortunately I think my Patagonia motorcycle tour will have to wait.

Hi all. In my case still planning to reach Santiago by the end of first week of January. Anticipate will need a few days to tune up plans and work on final details. Hoping to head south by the end of second week of January. No fixed route or calendar. Tentatively ito reach Ushuaia by the end of February (???). Not sure if that is too much or to little time. After that north bbaa and Santiago
