Russia-Mongolia and the Stans for 6 months,anyone?

Hi there,

I'm an experienced motorbike traveller and like to know or any female or male adventurous biker is interested to join up for this trip. I'm planning to go from May till October. I'll start from Belgium and will ride the whole way and back.Like to go off-road but i'm not a rally rider. Just like to keep it nice and smoot! :-)
Drop me a line if anyone's interested!

Cheers, Bossit!

I'm an Aussie planning a Silk Road trip from Europe, through the Stans to Mongolia for 2010. Roughly May-July.

Hopefully I'l have another 1-5 Aussies with me.

Am happy to share some of the planning thoughts.

cheers

I am shipping the bike across in May return July. I hook up with a mate in London and we take off for the Caspian Sea.

If interested, happy to discuss any planning issues to make sure nothing is missed. I see we are in the same home town! perhaps a chat over a beer?

I'm tyring to keep is pretty simple: grab some visas, take bike to London, ride around the Caspian, come home! We will use StanTours for visa assistance, and probably buy the visa for Turkey prior to departure.

Our trip planning is at: http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...758#post265736

Bossit, not meaning to hijack your thread mate, but perhaps we may have a similar route in parts. Happy to discuss joining part of your route if time aligns.

cheers fellas

I plan to leave Heidelberg Germany early April heading to Magadan then back to Germany going and doing whatever the weather and time allows until middle of October. I ride a F650GS and camp or do cheap hotels. My original plan was to do it alone but recognize the comraderi and safety in riding in a group. I'll watch this thread and please contact me if your looking for someone to join up with.

RETEP I got your PM but HUBB system won't let me reply. PM me your e-mail address then we can discuss Russia/Siberia. Sorry for this post but HUBB requires me to have 5 posts before I can send personal messages. This will be # 3.

Bossit's travel route

Hey guys,

It seems that i won't be the only one riding around in the Stans in 2010. :innocent:
Anyway, i'll be going from Belgium towards Ukraïne, than into Russia. Staying above Kazachstan and ride till the Baikal Lake, where i'll be heading down into Mongolia. From Ulan Bator, West back into Russia for a short while to get into Kazachstan. Than travel around the Stans, taking the ferry in Turkmenistan to Azerbaidjan. Into Georgia, Turkey, Greece, Yugoslavia, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Germany and back into Belgium. Well, that's a rough idea that still can change off course.
Anyone going simular route or wants to ride parts of it, could be interesting!:thumbup1:

Cheers guys!
Bossit.
