Road of Bones June/July 2012
 

HI all,
Does anyone know of a company doing motorbike expeditions UB to Magadan along the road of bones? I only really want to do that section - Kudu Expeditions does it but ive been reading some reviews on the new owner so not so sure about that anymore. Compass does London to Magadan but i dont have that kind of time (and ive already done London - UB anyway.

Alterantively, anyone interested in getting a group together? I can do anytime really but from what ive read June July seems like the go.

Hi,

I plan to do it the other way: Magadan to Yakutsk, the Vilyuisk Track to Myrni - Lenk - by boat to Ust Kut - Irkutsk.

I want to be in Magadan at the very beginning of August 2012.I understand that this is the best month considering the rivers levels.
I'm looking for a riding (or more) partner for the Old Summer Road.

If you are interested in this route and time frame sens me a message. Anyway even if we dont bump into each other it would be good to stay in contact and exchange information about the road.

Hi cg, I'm planning to do RoB around that time as well, after Naadam festivities in Mongolia so that would make it end of July.

I'm leaving London in March and travelling through Europe, so by then I should have 4 months of knocks and bruises under my belt, which should hopefully equate to a little experience and a few stories.

I would PM you but I need a minimum of 5 posts.

HI Craig, im Craig also. that could be good mate. I would like to start in UB, head north up to Lake Baikal and then east to Magadan. I would want to do it though in about 4 weeks which might be a little fast for you? The Kudu trip was 3 weeks from UB to Magadan and my leave pass from the mrs would run out if it went for much longer!!!

mate that's perfect bier I planned for roughly 4 weeks as I need to get back to London by mid to late September.

What sort of bike you riding? I'll be on a Tiger 800xc. A little heavier than what I would like for this particular section but it'll be fine. By then I should know all it's nuances.

I don't know what we need to do from here other than keep each other in the loop about our plans unless you have some ideas. My plan is to enter Mongolia around 21 June, depending on how friendly border patrol are during the other parts of the trip.

Hi Guys,

Are you still on for this route? A mate and I are currently in Ukraine. We rode here from the UK. We're riding a couple of DRz 400's around the world and looking to do the Road of Bones in around 4 or so weeks. We're heading down to Mongolia first.

Let me know if you are in the area. Also, do you know anything about flying bikes out of Vladivostok at all?
