I'll see you on the road.
Cheers

Hi Dukdukman,

Can you please tell me which ferry company did you use? i'm considering travelling via Korea instead of Japan.

Thanks and safe travel

Franco,
I used DSB.
This is a Japanese Company basically sailing a triangle from Japan (can't remember the name of the port, starts with a, 'S') to Donghae and on to Vladivostok.
I double-checked for alternatives but was repeatedly told this is the one and only option from Korea to Vlad. It's ro-ro, and customs in Dongahe and in Vlad were pretty efficient and gentle.
I am in Vlad now. Arrived yesterday arvo, got bike back today noon :thumbup1:

Leaving Vladivostok tomorrow morning en route to Khabarovsk. Will break the ~ 800 km journey in half. Wouldn't wanna ride the entire route in one day. Don't know (yet) about road conditions. Can tell more tomorrow night ...

Actually, it is a Korean company (not that it matters to travelers). The port it serves in Japan is Sakaiminato.

Yep, alone, however there are several travellers en route west and it is easy to join up. Hope to join tomorrow at Khabarovsk with Mario, another Aussie/German guy
