Riding to São Paulo from San Diego, when are we leaving and where do we meet?
 

Hi everyone, I’m all set to ride down to Brazil from California, and everyone tells me it’d probably be a good idea I don’t travel solo…
I’m free starting December 1st 2022, but I haven’t yet researched the best dates to depart to avoid torrential rains along the way in whatever countries…. Would any good soul(s) who’ve done the trip, or part of it, be cool enough to give me advice?
I’ll be on a 2022 BMW R1200GS and I’ll ship it back home from São Paulo.
Who wants to join me? Oh also, I’m a skydiver and I’ll bring my parachute with me and I intend to jump in every country on the way. I’m a French native but I have lived in the US for 43 years, I’m now 64 but it’s the new 44 I hear. My Spanish is minimal survival and no portuguese but I’m fluent in French and speak a bit of German

Look at www.climatestotravel.com for each country, then plan around the weather. There are no real challenges on this route, other than avoiding the Amazon between November and May. The key is what route you plan. The "rainy seasons" in Colombia are around the equinoxes, but are not that difficult, although some roads may be affected by landslides.

We’re hoping to ship our bikes into Canada in September, ride south and cross into Mexico at the end of November. We’ll then head south and see what happens.

Late 50s - 1200gs and Himalayan. My wife speaks passable French but I didn’t think it was used where we’re going.
Hoping to stop off in Mexico for some Spanish lessons.
Perhaps we’ll see you at some point
