Quito to Ushuaia - January 2015 to ????
 

Hola amigos!

I'm currently in Quito, Ecuador, and heading south to Ushuaia, Argentina, on a KLR650. I will go through Peru, Bolivia, Chile and finally Argentina. I think about doing it in about 3 months. But it can vary as I want to enjoy the places I'm visiting.
I am currently solo and would try to use economic places to sleep (tent/hosting/hostels) and would prefer to spend time in nature and small villages rather than overpopulated touristic places.

I don't know your budget...but in SA accommodation is cheap. I have carried a tent and only used it about four times...in the last 2 years 4 months. I do stay away from most of the tourist venues. I have paid 180 Argentinian pesos a day for an apartment in a hotel. I have stayed at a hostel in Ushuaia for 100Ap.

Many towns have municapal campsites from nothing to 60 pesos, then theres the wild camping or peoples gardens, just ask and avoid the big tourist spots. Worst case could be 100 pesos and an entry fee for a national park.
