Portugal, Spain (maybe Morocco) in May and June.
I am a retired teacher from southern Illinois (USA). I have a VStrom 650 which I store in Heidelberg, Germany, and which I ride in Europe each summer (last summer to Turkey, Greece, Baltic countries, Etc.). This summer I will be going to Spain, Portugal (and possibly Morocco if the weather is not too hot). I will be getting my bike in Germany around May 15 and heading south a day or two later. I don't mind solo tripping, but if is a lot more fun if there is another person or two along. Give me a reply if interested.

I'm on my way down to Portugal in May. Have to be there on the 15 of May. Have a placed all booked up. Looking at leavening the UK in to France on the 12. I may just may be able to swing my date's round. I clicked on the Google map links you posted, but they did not show the actual locations for the hotels you are staying at. I assume your first night hotel must be somewhere in France. I think my wife would be rightly upset with me if I left her in Holland and went riding off to meet you by the 12th in France, so I guess I will have to pass on doing that. I probably can't get to Stefan Knopf's house in Heidelberg where I keep my bike until May 13. Maybe we can get together and do some riding once I get to Portugal. Let me know where the flat is that you booked there. It is going to be just a few miles from Stefan's house. I went to the meeting in England three summers ago and it was fantastic. |

Hi John-- I just a few minutes ago booked my flight from Amsterdam (for the day my wife leaves for home) to Frankfurt where I will pick up my motorcycle. I will get to where my bike is the afternoon of Feb. 13. I guess I could leave from there the morning of Feb. 14 and meet you at the hotel in Poitiers, France on the 15th (I doubt I could get there any sooner.) Are you sure you want to do that? It is after you planned to do your trip.
