On my way down to the Stella...
 

Hi all,

I'm going to be riding this year's Stella Alpina Rally and then meet up with a few friends and do some exploration of Italy.

I plan to camp on the way down and take in as many mountain passes/scenic routes as possible. The route will be a bit of a long way round as I'd like to do as many passes as possible in North Eastern Italy (Stelvio etc).

At the moment I plan to leave next Wednesday (3/7) and catch the tunnel across.

Is anyone doing anything similar and would like to meet up? Not sure if I will be able to make it but would like to try and get to the BMW Festival in Garmisch as well if anyone is planning on getting there too.

see you at the stella. I crossed Switzerland a few year back following the mountain passes col de furka etc all the way across to stelvio. without touching the motorways (no tax to pay). absolutely beautiful..

Great report and fantastic pictures. See you at the Stella. I'll be on a Honda XL500R with rather large panniers :thumbup1:

I'll see you at the Stella too. On a blue Triumph Explorer, travelling light tho as only there for the weekend.
