Don't miss!

Live in Chiapas for 3 years. Don't miss:

Tuxtla Gutierrez is a cool town. Stop over there.

Sumidero Canyon just outside of Tuxtla

Caves up at San Cristobal de las Casas.

Aguas Azules up a bit north. Mineral river that runs thru the jungle. Blue like the Carribean and natural made km after km of waterfalls and pools.

Palenque Mayan city. Only 1 1/2 hour from Aguas Azules

Comitan near the Guatemalan border. Mayan ruins there especially the well/lake where they sacrificed the virgins. You can enter into Guatemala from there.

Thanks for the info

I was already going to check out San Cristobal and Palenque. I'll add the others to the list. Thanks! Any area I should be avoiding around there?

It's been a long time since we lived there, but we would go everywhere with our kids, no problems. Chiapas feels more like Gautemala then Mexico!
