November 2009 3rd-7th Europe
Hey,
I had some holiday left to burn for the year so decided to take off a week in November. I've never been on a trip abroad on my bike before (longest was 135miles to kent on the joyous m25) and I thought what the heck. I'm planning to get the eurotunnel to Calais early morning November Tuesday the 3rd and then going whereever I can reasonably travel and make it back to eurotunnel Calais on the Saturday 7th or Sunday the 8th if monetry funds allow. I was thinking Northen France, maybe up to Belgium, into Germany down to Luxembourg, I've not made any plans at all yet. I only decided yesterday, so anyway I was just wondering if anyone was going to be in Europe, around this time, I know its not too likely because of the time of year, but there might be someone. Or anyone that would want to have a trip into Europe (Coming from the UK too). Drop me a line, I currently have a restricted Kawasaki ER5 '99 (due to age). Charlie |
Make you way to Trier (the oldest town in Germany so I'm told) it is beautiful with Roman remains.
I'm off south at that time using the Norfolk Line (the best in my view) |
I think I've changed my plans to heading down to the South of France or through central France now but to be honest I'm not making any plans - all I've got is my eurotunnel ticket to leave early next tuesday morning and my return ticket on sunday.
Should be good, not long now, Charlie :scooter: |
The D964 from Sedan through Verdun to Neufchatel is a very good ride, maybe the best in Northern France. It'll take you down towards Alsace from where you can explore into Germany (including Trier) and Luxembourg. Have a great time.

Hey there I might just give that a go,
I had a look on google maps, and I'm not 100% sure I understand I see from Sedan you can go down the D964 to Verdun and then take a seperate D road left towards Neufchâtel. From looking at the map I might go from Calais towards Verdun and then take the D964 up to Sedan - whats the road like? Anyway cheers, I'm well excited only a few days to go! Charlie:clap: |
