Normandy France June, chilled out trip.
 

Hi, I was wondering if there is anyone in Normandy France 19th-26th June 2022 who might fancy joining myself and three other motorcyclist for some chilled out, relaxed pace touring.
No big distances, 50 miles a day is fine. Plenty of coffee, cake stops, extended lunch breaks.
Ideally for small, slow, classic motorcycles, scooters or those who prefer chilled out low miles.
I'm on a 1988 Yamaha XT600 Tenere, others are on scooters and a 660 Tenere.
Not so much an adventure of a lifetime, more an adventurous lunchtime....

Sadly will have only been back a couple of days from a big trip with the Mrs .. otherwise would of loved a relaxed ride in France... Have fun and enjoy bier

Hopefully you aren't a lager monster , the price in Normandy will make ur eyes water , fuel is around 2.20 euro + a litre and there is suddenly a proliferation of speed humps and 20mph zones in most of the villages . Came back from my friends two weeks ago and France was shut even more then before...........strange

I was up there doing the beaches thing yesterday. SP 98 was €1.88 litre in supermarkets and plenty of places open. France doesn’t really start to open up until after the Easter week.

Have a good trip - trick is not to buy pints of larger bier stick to the 25cl

Graham72......funny how one part of the country can differ so much from another . My friend lives near verdun and the fuel price is nuts.....1.88 is cheap . As u say hopefully things are on the move in general . That said even belguim was quiet when I crossed the border . Even stranger was the fact that the majority of speed cameras I saw were covered up . :scooter:

You might save some money to offset the cost of your larger bier

I think I've shared this before, but a top tip for route planning in France that worked for me was setting the Garmin to avoid motorways, A roads, and B roads (I forget what the classifications are called in the Garmin system, sorry) to get the pre-Roman wiggly rural routes that are really fun at low speeds.

Hi, thanks for the input and information.
It's going to be even more of s chilled out your, I had intended to do a bit of the TET, but the other guy on theXT660 has dropped out, seems his passport renewal won't be ready in time.
So instead of some gentle off road on my XT600 Tenere it will be road stuff on my Triumph Street Twin. Still plenty of coffee and lunch breaks and sunshine.
On the subject of lunch breaks, one thing we have found on our previous French tours is to look for parked up white vans at lunchtime.
Usually in village or small town squares or on quiet country roads, it's where white van man goes for lunch.
But not like in Britain, where it is a McDonald's, oh no they know how to eat quality in France.
Not only good food, but good value as well.
